Uplifting Circumstances

Romans 15:1-2 says, We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Let every one of us please his neighbor for his good to edification.

Sometimes, God puts people and circumstances before us to see how we handle them.   A few weeks ago, my husband and I were driving out of a parking lot in town. When we got to the road, we waited for a man to walk by in front of our car. Both of the man's hands were loaded with bags of groceries. We asked if he needed a ride. He greatfully took us up on our offer.

We found out the man is married and has two small children. His only vehicle had recently blown an engine. His neighbors help drive him back and forth to work when they can. On Fridays, he usually purchases groceries for his family. He sometimes gets a ride or walks the entire eight-mile round trip.

It was a blessing to listen to the man's story. He showed me pictures of his family and praised God despite his circumstances. As Christians, we are to try to help those in need. When you help others, you, too, will be blessed.
