Asa's heart for God

      In 1 Kings 15: 9-14, we see the start of King Asa's reign.   After King Abijam passed away, his son Asa reigned for 41 years in Jerusalem.   Asa did what was right in the eyes of the Lord. 

    He took away the sodomites out of the land, and removed all the idols that his fathers before him  had made.  

    Asa removed his grandmother, Maachah, from being queen, because she had made an  idol in a grove. Asa destroyed her idol, and burnt it by the brook Kidron.  

    Asa was blessed by God with a long reign. His heart was perfect with the Lord all his days.
